Yesterday's decision to go to Stevenson ended up a bad call, as Hood River had been going off all day...

So chose 'The Event Site' today, even though it's $3 to park, the wind is more reliable here than the (free) Marina.

We were ever hopeful it would pick up, but by midday I was out making the most of it on big kit. The cloud cover ensured it never did pick up.

As ever, the wind was very up & down, and I was planing about 50% of the time. This meant a lot of time & effort was wasted during lulls when waiting to waterstart, or trying and failing. Uphauling's not an option, coz as soon as you've moved the gear, the wind'll howl through...

Not great, but alright, and a good 6 hours sesh (about half that on the water).
